One of the few outdoor music events I’ve shot. Didn’t know what to expect so used a dual flash setup using a Foursquare but that didn’t provide as much light as I had hoped. Next time more strobe heads. It was in the middle of the day, the worst time for light so I wanted to make up for that. Next time perhaps I bring my Hensel Porty instead but it isn’t as mobile. Thanks to my lovely wife for being the photographer’s assistant.
I covered all three bands who performed at The Englander in San Leandro and found it was a tough place to shoot so it took me a while to find something that worked. As a result my photos of the last band Glimpse Trio are the best of the night I think. I experimented with a mix of ambient and artificial light with a twist on what I did at Gilman a few weeks ago. Hope you all like them.
